USPA NEWS - The filmmarathon is sort of an athletic challenge. A race against time, as the participants only have one day, 24-hour hours, to make their film.

Our goal is to bring awareness to the changes we all have to do on a daily basis in our consuming habits. The competition aims to do that with the power of filmmaking. A crew can have only one or more members. Participants have to create a maximum one minute long short film to raise awareness on what we can do to save our envorinment, like being a bit more energy efficient or taking a bit more care in our daily life. The online competition is open to anyone from anywhere.
There is no entry fee, no age limit. There are no technical restrictions. The films can be made with a digital camera, mobile phone or any other applicable camera. During post-production any appropriate programs can be used. There is no preferred genre for the films. It could be a live action short film, video clip or animation.
All the participants get the same time for making the film during the 24-hour marathon, considering the differences in the time-zone. Registrations can be made up until the start of the competition at the official site of the program.
SHOOTING
The timing of the shooting: Starts at 10 AM local time, 17th of April, 2021 (Saturday), finishes at 10 AM local time, 18th of April, 2021 (Sunday)
During this time span of 24 hours, the participants have to shoot and edit a creative, smart short film with a maximum length of 60 seconds. The films can be made with a digital video camera, mobile phone, tablet or digital camera.
Shooting must be done during the official time span of the competition. Pre-shooting is not allowed.
The music of the uploaded film must be properly licensed and the images must be original, legitimate recordings made by the crew after 10 AM local time, 17th of April, 2021. COMPULSORY ELEMENT
The Organizers will announce three compulsory elements. Out of these three elements the Participants have to choose one they believe fits their film the best. This one element must be used and incorporated into the uploaded film. These compulsory elements will be annonunced publically via the website of the competition at 10 AM local time, 17th of April (Saturday). The compulsory element could be a colour, an object, etc. that the participants get to know at the moment of the start of the program.

The credits and the appearing of the title is not counted in the 60 seconds time limit. The title of the film could be appearing at the end of the film, too.
IMPORTANT

Anything said and portrayed in the uploaded films fall under the responsibility of the creators of the film and does not reflect the ideas of the Organizers. The Organizers shall not be liable for any contents of the films. The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any videos that are discriminatory, promote hatred or otherwise do not comply with the theme and spirit of the competition. The competition is not open to religious-themed or politically charged films. The entries will be judged by a professional jury. The Organizers allow the jury to choose or leave out entries, as well as award the prizes to the participants based on any criteria set by themselves. The list of the winners will be announced after the end of the competition.
The decisions of the jury are not subject to appeal!

The Organizers reserve the right to change the prizes.
The Organizers reserve the right to use the entries for non-commercial means, for example in on-air television broadcasts, on the internet or as part of advertisements or other publicity efforts. The Participant, the creator and maker of the film waives of any financial claims he might have in the future for the usage of his film according to the rules of the competition.Any participant of limited legal capacity or minors under the age of 18 state that they have the consent of their legal representatives to accept the rules of this competition, and upon request they can present this consent.The Participant declares that he is the author of the entry and guarantees that no third person has any right that restricts the right of the Organizers as stated above. The Participant declares that the entry does not include any work that fall under collective management rights.
In case the Participant uses images or music that are not properly licensed in his film all the legal consequences will be the responsibility of the Participant. Anyone taking part at the competition has to declare that the uploaded film is original and does not violate any copyrights.The uploaded films shall not contain product placement! The Organizers reserve the right to censor or even disqualify those entries that contain product placement illegally.By taking part at the competition the Participant consent that his film and all his personal information previously sent to the Organizers can be appearing on the websites and social media platforms operated by the Organizers.Everyone is taking part at the competition on his own responsibility. The Organizers are not liable for any injuries and damages suffered during the competition.The Organizers reserve the right to change the Rules of the competition.
