USPA NEWS - French President Emmanuel Macron received at the Elysee Palace today, March 23, 2021, his counterpart the new President of Libya Mohamed Al Menfi, whose first trip abroad since his recent election. The president of the Libyan transitional government, elected on February 5, arrived at the French Presidency, accompanied by one of his vice-presidents, the representative of Fezzan, Moussa Al Koni. President Emmanuel Macron announced the major event which is the reopening of the French embassy in Tripoli, the capital of Libya, on Monday. "As of Monday, our embassy in Tripoli will be reopened," President Macron said. The two heads of state who spoke for less than an hour, mainly about the way out of the Libyan crisis, did not make a statement to the press and had already spoken on the telephone on February 7. Other subjects, will be developed in the future between the two French and Libyan presidents, concerning the contract of the company Défense Conseil International (DCI), such as equipment for the Libyan army, from before the presidential elections which are held. will take place next December.
